The first steps

Life soon settled down into the routine of feeding, burping and changing babies. Yellow was projectile vomiting his food and seemed to be plagued by continual stomach cramps. He cried for hours on end. You can imagine the confusion and frustration as first-time parents. Our many visits to the pediatrician, trying diluted formula milk and then Soybean milk with medicine to prevent the projectile vomiting, made no difference. He still projectile vomited his food, most often after he would wake up from a nap.  Eventually in absolute desperation, we tried him on goat's milk. (As an aside, goat's milk does not have a lot of fat so you have to be careful that the person drinking it doesn't lose too much weight.) Orange lost weight but he stopped projectile vomiting. One thing solved......

On of my strongest memory's was of the three babies lying on lying on a blanket on the floor in my parent's lounge under the fan. Blue and Orange were waving their hands and feet and turning their heads trying to look around them and see what was going on.. Yellow was just lying there - almost if he couldn't hear or see us. I remember saying: "I wonder if he doesn't have a form of Autism".
